Requirements
Must:
- Proficient in data modeling across conceptual, logical, physical, 3NF, and dimensional models at both project and enterprise levels.
- Experience with dimensional modeling that includes standardized dimensions across business units.
- Skilled in utilizing data modeling tools like PowerDesigner, Oracle Designer, or ERwin.
- Collaborative experience with data engineering and analytics teams.
- Competent in writing SQL queries, preferably ANSI SQL.
- Basic understanding of AI technologies, methodologies, and trends.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to convey data structures to audiences without a technical background.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide associates while actively participating in data modeling and architecture tasks.
- Lead a team of data modelers within autonomous squads across various product areas.
- Define and enhance data modeling and database design standards and practices.
- Collaborate with both business and technical teams to create scalable, flexible, and detailed data models that enhance product offerings and accelerate time to market.
- Work closely with project teams, vendors, support organizations, architects, and technical resources to gather information requirements and deliver effective data modeling solutions.
- Cultivate the adoption of enterprise standards and advocate for necessary changes related to processes, standards, or technologies.
- Enhance the analysis of business requirements to produce efficient and well-architected designs.
- Aid in the development of guidelines and standards for design checklists, governance processes, and maintaining data repositories.
- Provide thought leadership in the industry to technology teams.
- Mentor junior data modelers in their professional growth.
