Requirements
Must:
- Senior-level experience in data engineering or backend software engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing and pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience with big data tools and AWS services like EMR.
- Experience in creating and utilizing APIs and managing batch data pipelines.
- Background in establishing new infrastructure and delivering software in AWS environments.
- Capability to construct backend systems with some familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Demonstrated experience with AI tools to enhance engineering efficiency and quality (preferred).
- Previous involvement in similar large-scale financial services environments (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an abstraction layer that separates downstream experiences from the actual data source.
- Create and sustain APIs and batch data processes that retrieve data from external sources and present it to internal users.
- Construct data pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark across big data platforms, including AWS EMR and related services.
- Implement and secure backend services and infrastructure in AWS for scalable, reliable delivery.
- Provide backend functionalities with a focus on performance, dependability, and maintainability, with optional light front-end integration.
- Utilize AI-assisted engineering methodologies to expedite development, testing, and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure clear data access and minimal disruption for users.
- Participate in code reviews, automation, and continuous integration to enhance quality and speed.
