Requirements
Must:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET with significant hands-on experience in .NET Core
- Background with older .NET frameworks for legacy systems
- Expertise in asynchronous programming
- Experience in developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with SignalR
- Robust experience in integrating APIs with Microsoft SQL Server
- Knowledge of securing APIs and services using OAuth and safe coding practices
- Comfort with a Microsoft-centric technology stack
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Preferred familiarity with AI-assisted development tools
Responsibilities
- Enhance and support business-critical production applications
- Conduct new development, enhancements, and maintenance in a C#/.NET environment
- Work extensively with intricate business logic and process-oriented workflows
- Design, construct, and oversee secure, scalable backend services and APIs
- Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code in alignment with best practices
- Execute unit tests and collaborate with a separate QA team for comprehensive application testing
- Engage in code reviews, technical discussions, and solution design
- Contribute to effort estimation, progress tracking, and demonstration sessions
- Rapidly familiarize oneself with internal frameworks, standards, and development methodologies
Description
We are seeking a senior backend engineer to support and enhance our critical business applications in a C#/.NET environment, located in Rockaway Township, NJ. This hybrid role, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday, involves designing and maintaining secure, scalable APIs and services while integrating with SQL Server. We offer a contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive hourly rate of $70.00 to $80.00, alongside an excellent benefits package for our W2 consultants, which includes medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
