Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in Python development within backend or application logic environments.
- Proficient in SQL with the capability to write and modify intricate queries.
- Practical experience in working with and enhancing existing codebases using version control systems like GitHub.
- Proven skills in debugging and troubleshooting within loosely documented, changing systems.
- Experience in supporting backend workflows and application logic with production-like assistance.
- Familiarity with data science or machine learning applications sufficient to interpret model outputs and feature behavior.
- Experience in MLOps or similar model-adjacent systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and BigQuery is preferred.
- Experience supporting data science workflows or applications in dynamic pilot environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Trace, investigate, and modify existing Python code within a dynamic pilot codebase.
- Compose and update SQL queries for data extraction and logic adjustments.
- Debug issues reported by stakeholders and rectify defects in code and logic.
- Examine unexpected or inconsistent model outputs to ascertain root causes.
- Implement business rule and logic modifications securely and predictably.
- Enhance logging throughout the workflow to bolster observability and reporting.
- Provide production-like troubleshooting support for the pilot process.
- Identify root causes across code, data, logic, or behaviors related to models.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend requested changes and translate them into effective code.
- Ensure that outputs and logs satisfy downstream reporting requirements.
Description
We are seeking a Python-focused MLOps engineer to take charge of coding, debugging, and maintaining a rapidly evolving pilot ML Python application. This role emphasizes backend Python and SQL work in a lightly documented codebase, where youll address issues across code, data, and logic, enforce business rule changes, and improve logging to aid in downstream reporting. This involvement allows our senior data scientist to dedicate their efforts to model development while you ensure stability and deliver production-like support for the pilot.
