Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in IT focusing on server and storage infrastructure
- Proficient with Red Hat Linux versions 7, 8, and 9
- Strong understanding of Linux security along with identity and access management processes
- Experience in disk storage management and working with storage subsystems
- Familiarity with VMware ESX and similar virtualization platforms
- Availability for on-call support for enterprise operations
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for operating systems, hardware, and storage
- Scripting experience in Shell and Python; knowledge of Node or Angular is advantageous
- Proven track record of leading incident response calls in collaboration with enterprise clients and application teams
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and IT service management principles
- Understanding of infrastructure stacks including Linux, AIX, Windows, VMware, and major server hardware vendors
- Preferred experience with Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager
- Desired expertise with Veritas Storage Foundation or Veritas Cluster Server
- Preference for experience with Windows, VMware, and OLVM
- Experience with SAN, NAS, or CAS infrastructures is a plus
Responsibilities
- Act as a representative for distributed compute and storage operations during incident calls and expedite high-severity incident resolutions
- Manage and maintain Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, including hypervisors and hardware
- Carry out security compliance patching to ensure server environment stability
- Collaborate on a daily basis with colleagues across operational teams and global counterparts
- Spot and implement automation opportunities within DevOps and engineering initiatives
- Execute change management procedures and contribute to KPIs and metrics related to operations
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to operating systems, hardware, and storage
- Work with vendors to conduct root cause analyses and enforce solutions
- Advocate for process enhancements that improve reliability, self-service, and self-healing capabilities within the environment
Description
We are looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to enhance our distributed compute operations and maintain server stability across various platforms, including Linux, Unix, and Windows. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work onsite bi-weekly in either Westlake, TX, or MMK, NH.
