Requirements

Must:
- 7+ years of experience in designing and building intricate data processing pipelines and streaming solutions. - Familiarity with big data solution design and tools, including Hadoop and Spark. - Strong proficiency in relational SQL databases, particularly Amazon Redshift. - Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CDK. - Knowledge of containerization services like EKS and ECR. - In-depth understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, QuickSight, Config, Security Hub, and Inspector. - Proven track record in designing, building, and implementing high-performance APIs and programs using established architectural frameworks and guidelines. - Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating systems. - Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - AWS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

- Develop, improve, and resolve complex data engineering, visualization, and integration functionalities using AWS services such as Python, R, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR, QuickSight, and SageMaker. - Provide technical guidance and collaborate with software developers, data engineers, database architects, analysts, and data scientists to ensure alignment of data processing architecture across projects. - Participate in peer code reviews, support database defects, enhance security, manage vulnerabilities, and occasionally provide backup production support. - Utilize DevOps skills to create and implement Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, software, and cloud-native capabilities while adhering to change management protocols. - Work closely with the product owner and engineering team to ensure technology solutions align with business objectives and vision.

We are seeking a Data Engineer to establish cloud-native data processing for our AWS-based analytics platform. This position requires a hybrid work setup, with local candidates preferred to work onsite 2-3 days a week in St. Louis, MO, or visit approximately every two months for 3 days if non-local.
