Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Oracle engineering with a focus on cloud technologies
- Proven experience in the financial services sector, ideally with a solid understanding of financial systems and processes
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Cloud technologies
- Proficiency in designing cloud infrastructure and deploying Oracle databases on AWS
- Strong shell scripting and automation abilities
- Familiarity with CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins, GIT, and Artifactory
- Python programming skills are advantageous
- Experience in managing large hybrid database environments that include on-premises and public cloud
- Hands-on experience in building and deploying data solutions in AWS and Azure
- Practical experience in migrating databases from on-premises to public cloud
- Expertise in designing resilient Oracle database platforms using distributed database patterns
- Strong understanding of Oracle RAC performance challenges
- Familiarity with setting up alerts and monitoring using Datadog, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and OpenTelemetry
- Solid background in production support for high availability systems, with involvement in on-call rotations
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Artifactory, and Jenkins
- Ability to automate administrative tasks with Python, Groovy, Java, Jenkins, and shell scripting
- Capability to assess and recommend top-tier tools and engineering practices
- Over 12 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, Performance Engineering, or Replication Engineering across Linux and engineered systems
- Expertise with Oracle GoldenGate replication on Oracle RAC and Exadata
- Preferred AWS certification
- Preferred Azure certification
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud infrastructure, including provisioning EC2 instances and deploying databases onto virtual machines
- Create and implement automation scripts for deploying tools and Oracle functionalities such as observer, Oracle auditing, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Develop shell scripts for automation and deployment tasks, utilizing Jenkins for tool deployment
- Utilize CloudFormation and Terraform (transitioning to OpenTOFU) for infrastructure as code
- Manage code and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GIT, and Artifactory
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of Oracle solutions on AWS and Azure platforms
- Engineer high-availability and scalable Oracle platforms leveraging distributed database patterns
- Work with DevOps teams to construct, configure, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as Datadog, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and OpenTelemetry
- Provide production support for high availability systems and participate in an on-call rotation

- Assess and suggest tools and engineering best practices for database platform reliability
- Define and lead development standards and coding best practices
- Conduct independent technical and functional analysis across multiple projects
- Produce comprehensive documentation supporting corporate initiatives
- Support and perform all phases of testing through implementation
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Communicate technology solutions to business partners
- Serve as an on-call resource according to the organizations escalation model
- Develop proofs of concept to validate data engineering practices focused on database features and performance
- Engage in code reviews, unit testing, and assist with development and production issues
