Principal Electronics and Software Engineer

- Foster company growth by designing, developing, and launching electronic products and sub-assemblies - Create engineering concepts and architectures that align with product specifications - Develop detailed manufacturable designs, including embedded software and validation strategies to ensure compliance with requirements - Formulate assembly processes and instructions employing lean principles to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality - Design Built-in-Test and test fixtures for programming, calibration, and testing in low-volume production runs - Offer technical expertise in the designated area, including training others and representing the company externally - Craft hardware specifications and compile system-level documentation - Architect microprocessors, embedded software, and peripheral circuitry to fulfill specifications - Develop and maintain both test and customer PC software that interfaces with microprocessors within products - Oversee the project timeline and schedule in adherence to the ISO9001 system to ensure timely market introduction - Draft and assess test plans, perform tests, and analyze results to verify that designs meet high-quality specifications - Lead moderate to complex design reviews to confirm product and circuit reliability - Create and document assembly procedures and fixtures for assemblers and testing technicians - Prepare and sustain up-to-date product documentation, including data sheets, user manuals, design sketches, assembly, and testing records - Mentor and oversee the work of Co-Op engineers
