Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in industrial equipment automation repair or a comparable field.
- Willingness to travel for training, site visits, and business-related needs.
- Availability for off-hours calls when necessary to support operations and address urgent issues.
- Proficient in drafting and updating technical documents for machinery, ensuring clarity and accessibility for users and technicians, while verifying documentation against engineering and COTS standards.
- Experienced in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting machinery related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Knowledgeable in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems.
- Capable of effectively communicating technical guidance, equipment failure analysis, and problem management in both oral and written forms to support maintenance customers.
- Skilled in collaborating with internal and external clients to resolve equipment and system issues.
- Familiar with repair and maintenance life-cycle support methodologies.
- Basic understanding of industrial control systems or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of USPS automation equipment.
- Train employees and provide guidance on repairs of USPS automation equipment failures.
- Identify, analyze, and counsel on potential equipment failures, developing procedures to prevent future issues.
- Create life cycle support documentation, including maintenance and safety procedures based on engineering and vendor information.
- Evaluate and recommend which products or services best meet USPS customer requirements.
- Gain knowledge of USPS equipment servicing and engineering principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Utilize experience and judgment to plan and facilitate maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Perform a range of maintenance, installation, and repair tasks as necessary.
- Lead and manage the work of others effectively.
- Exercise creativity and independence in executing assigned duties.
- Report typically to a manager or head of a department.
