Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience
- Active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory
- DOD 8570-01M certification: IAM Level I or higher (e.g., Security+)
- Solid understanding of AWS and/or Azure/cloud technologies with a willingness to expand knowledge
- Over 3 years of relevant experience in progressively responsible roles involving technical and cloud solutions
- Proven customer-centric approach coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Forecast future cloud spending based on proposed architectures, past usage, and sanctioned budgets
- Provide Rough Order of Magnitude quotes and assist in customer budget discussions and approvals
- Analyze historical usage trends and account for expected growth or decommissioning to provide monthly rolling forecasts
- Maintain accurate cloud cost trackers for actual and planned costs to update cloud forecasts in reporting systems
- Produce analytical reports and summaries as per customer requests
- Support financial closing processes, including accruals, variance explanations, and finance reviews
- Review and reconcile cloud provider invoices with internal records and usage data
- Investigate billing discrepancies and ensure accurate charge codes for billing
- Monitor actual cloud expenditure versus forecasts, identifying variances and analyzing cost anomalies
- Work within all classification levels by consolidating cost details into unclassified reports and assisting with budgeting discussions
- Operate in a hybrid work environment, being on-site at SCIF up to 4 days a week
- Communicate effectively with customers, contract managers, industry partners, senior management, and government stakeholders
- Provide guidance and innovation in new business acquisition and proposal development
- Stay updated on industry trends to promote innovative solutions across functional areas
Description
We at ECS are looking for a Cloud Cost Manager to join our dynamic team based in Fairfax, VA, while also supporting various government sites. This role focuses on the management of cloud costs and financial oversight for a significant DoD program involving multiple cloud environments including AWS GovCloud and Azure Government. We offer a hybrid work setup with a minimum of 2-3 days on-site per week. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient delivery for our clients, while also engaging in our internal financial operations.
