Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience
- 9+ years in designing and developing complex, data-intensive systems including data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-based solutions
- 2+ years in building end-to-end data management platforms, covering data modeling, data governance, BI/reporting, and ML lifecycle support
- 5+ years of experience with ETL or data pipeline development tools (e.g., Ab Initio, Talend, Informatica) and BI/reporting solutions (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects)
- Proficiency with advanced analytics or ML workloads using tools such as Python, PySpark, or Spark
- Practical experience with Docker and containerized workloads
- Experience designing and developing scalable and highly available systems
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging frameworks (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka)
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)
- Strong understanding of mature engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile methodologies
- Proven record of delivering business-critical, production-grade systems
- Ability to influence and collaborate across various teams and departments
- Willingness to undergo background and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineering, product teams, and architects to enhance data engineering methods and disseminate knowledge organization-wide
- Lead the data and technical strategy for large-scale requirements, addressing broad and complex issues beyond a single team
- Establish and guide department-wide data architecture, design patterns, and coding standards
- Assess and confirm the quality, effectiveness, and scalability of code produced by diverse teams
- Resolve technical conflicts that arise within and between teams
- Direct technical architecture, design, prototyping, and execution in line with product needs and overarching technology strategies
- Advocate for engineering in cross-functional discussions; articulate well-reasoned technical arguments to gain alignment and influence outcomes
- Team up with product managers, designers, and engineers to ideate and create new data-driven features
- Take full ownership of data platforms, pipelines, or systems, ensuring their long-term viability through improvements in reliability and scalability
- Aid Support and Operations teams in identifying and rectifying production issues
- Develop tests and validation processes to maintain data quality, performance, and scalability
- Mentor and guide other engineers, acting as a technical leader for cross-functional initiatives
- Proactively seek to enhance engineering standards, tools, and procedures
- Uphold the companys commitment to risk management and protect the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of systems and data
