Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. - At least 8 years of progressive experience in database engineering. - Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies, including Oracle RDBMS on Linux, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. - Familiarity with Cloud DBaaS solutions and tools such as Azure, AWS RDS, and Cloud Watch. - Proven track record in designing and implementing database systems for high performance and reliability, both on-premises and in the cloud. - Strong verbal and written communication abilities. - Willingness to work outside of normal business hours and provide on-call support. - Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory.

Responsibilities

- Provide expert technical support for the design and operation of 24/7 environments, ensuring data availability and security. - Identify and prioritize daily database administration duties, including onboarding for new technologies. - Design, install, maintain, and support database systems, ensuring audit and compliance support. - Maintain documentation for existing practices and updated standards. - Proactively collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve information flow and content issues, transforming business needs into database solutions. - Consult on and shape technical vision, recommending process enhancements. - Explore and implement automation opportunities to support business objectives. - Foster department-level collaboration and motivate peers towards process improvements. - Support risk management efforts, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data, while aligning with departmental policies. - Monitor and analyze performance metrics, advising on resource allocation for optimal database performance. - Diagnose issues and implement performance improvements as needed. - Participate in a rotating on-call support model within a 24/7 production environment, being available for critical escalations.
