Requirements
Must:
- Education or experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in computer science or engineering
- Typically 2-5 years of relevant and progressive experience in the field
- Hands-on experience in implementing and managing network devices, including setting and overseeing policies and rights in a network setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of the following equipment or technologies:
- Firewalls
- Load Balancers
- Cisco network switches
- Cisco routers
- Cisco VPN
- Juniper equipment
- Linux/Windows servers
- Telecom Services
- Strong understanding of Data Center technologies, remote network security, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- In-depth knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking
- Basic understanding of virtualization effects on network design; familiarity with ESX and vSwitch technology
- Practical experience in implementing and managing TCP/IP-based services, such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, SSH, SSL, and SMTP
- Expertise in troubleshooting to identify issues across hardware, software, networks, and applications
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and staying updated on industry trends
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Aid in the design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of LAN/WAN equipment and associated services for web support
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate network issues while assisting and training junior staff
- Collaborate in selecting network devices and policies that meet security protocols
- Develop and sustain detailed documentation for all established networks
- Maintain and support the companys LAN/WAN landscape and web hosting services
- Conduct daily maintenance, resolve problems, and configure hardware
- Perform upkeep on all network devices
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide escalated support for junior colleagues
- Obtain and retain necessary certifications
- Contribute to the establishment and policy formulation of network and security protocols
- Uphold the companys commitment to risk management by safeguarding system integrity and data confidentiality
- For Load Balancing/F5 Focus Engineers:
- Troubleshoot issues using logs from F5 appliances
- Skilled at configuring client and server SSL profiles
- Manage and configure F5 with TMSH and BASH environments
- Design and set up a full proxy architecture
- Configure self IPs, HA, VLANs, Routes, NTP, DNS, and SYSLOG
- Diagnose problems using TCPDump and Wireshark
- Set up LTM components such as Virtual Servers, Pools, and monitors
- Configure SNAT and profiles for HTTP and TCP
- Troubleshoot DNS technologies, including Route 53, UltraDNS, and/or Infoblox
