Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and Terraform
- Proficiency in Python, along with familiarity in PowerShell and Bash scripting
- Experience in HPC infrastructure and parallel compute resources (CPU/GPU)
- Solid understanding of cloud security and networking principles, along with operational best practices
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code and containerization techniques
- Familiarity with AWS monitoring tools and cost management strategies
- Experience with databases, particularly AWS Aurora for PostgreSQL, including SQL query optimization
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps is advantageous
- Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities; proactive and accountable
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Skilled in gathering user requirements, documenting processes, and translating needs into technical solutions
- Strong service orientation, with an understanding of user constraints and collaboration with internal teams (cloud ops, cybersecurity, network security)
- Resourceful in navigating internal processes and developing relationships within the organization
- Capable of advising on and developing future solutions from conception to execution
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and oversee secure, scalable AWS environments, prioritizing security, networking, and cloud operations
- Automate workflows using Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripts
- Manage S3 buckets while understanding their limitations and cross-account access
- Implement and enhance parallel computing solutions using autoscaling groups, AWS Batch, and both CPU and GPU compute resources
- Establish monitors and logs for job executions, service utilization, EC2 usage, durations, and expenditures
- Develop infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK
- Collaborate with AWS Aurora for PostgreSQL, focusing on writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Build and maintain Docker containers and ECR repositories, including the ability to create images from scratch
- Utilize AWS CodeBuild and possess a working knowledge of Azure DevOps
Description
We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer skilled in AWS services, Terraform, Python, and HPC infrastructure. This position involves working closely with our Chief Geologist on significant projects that influence our business and our customers. Our work schedule is on-site from Tuesday to Thursday. We offer a collaborative environment where you can grow alongside a dedicated team, contributing to high-impact initiatives.
