Requirements
Must:
- Expert-level networking knowledge in network architecture, advanced routing and switching protocols, and network security
- Proven ability to resolve complex and critical network issues through deep troubleshooting and advanced diagnostics
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with Layer 2 switching protocols
- At least 5 years of recent experience with Layer 3 routing protocols
- Familiarity with multiple networking vendors including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Juniper, and Arista
- Solid grasp of enterprise network design, operational best practices, and IT managed service standards
- In-depth experience with RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, VTP, ARP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, UDP, NDP, VxLAN, VRRP, and EtherChannel in a global context
- Knowledge of application-level protocols such as SNMP, telnet, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, DHCPv6, DNS, 802.1x, and IPsec
- Strong expertise in Wi-Fi design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing/switching equipment
- Experience with SDN and SDWAN deployments is advantageous
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system; scripting skills are a plus
- Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 in a dual-stack environment is beneficial
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Responsibilities
- Assist in troubleshooting multi-vendor, multi-protocol enterprise networks
- Respond to network alerts and diagnose issues, providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as needed
- Collaborate with telecommunication providers to resolve circuit-related issues
- Work with various vendors to address configuration, hardware, and software challenges
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and oversee critical network issues
- Provide day-to-day support for large-scale network solutions
- Support the engineering team with analysis of network events/outages to ensure permanent resolutions and service enhancements
- Engage with various network projects across multiple business units
- Troubleshoot SD-WAN and Wi-Fi issues
- Provide support for Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center)
- Create and update existing network documentation and Wiki pages
- Engage in escalations from engineers and customers
