Requirements
Must:
- Technical diploma or certification in electronics, computer hardware, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining IT and network hardware within a data center setting
- Preferable familiarity with hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and x86 servers
- Strong organizational capabilities for managing multiple tasks and effectively prioritizing work
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in a dynamic environment
- Valid drivers license and capacity to meet physical job demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex device and network issues to minimize downtime and enhance performance
- Execute rack uplinks adhering to best practices, following ESD guidelines, and ensuring device configuration and connectivity
- Possess in-depth knowledge of various fiber specifications and connector types for proper installation and maintenance
- Demonstrate knowledge of Cat 6 cabling, including specifications, common applications, and best practices for data center handling
- Manage workload autonomously, prioritizing tasks and working independently
- Engage in cross-training across diverse areas and sites to cultivate a versatile skill set
- Communicate complex technical information effectively with team members and external partners
- Understand network device topology and troubleshoot layouts, as well as DC topology and environmental standards
- Exhibit excellent time management to meet project deadlines and service level agreements
- Actively share knowledge and train less experienced colleagues, fostering a collaborative environment
- Maintain advanced troubleshooting support and a strong knowledge of physical layer operations
