Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (systems, electronics, avionics, computer science, etc.) or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 20 years of experience (Masters Degree can replace 3 years, PhD can replace 7 years)
- Proven ability to lead requirements definition, system design, integration, and testing through the entire lifecycle of enterprise IT and security systems
- Demonstrated experience in directing system performance evaluations, risk analyses, and technical assessments for significant federal initiatives
- Expertise in guiding secure system integration methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of configuration management processes, including establishing baselines, conducting audits, and sustaining technical documentation
- Proficient in network engineering and planning with the capacity to assess impacts of system modifications, ensuring adherence to FAA standards and crafting secure architecture transition strategies
- Ability to provide expert guidance on federal cybersecurity and engineering compliance regulations, including NIST standards and acquisition protocols
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers, directing cross-functional teams, and advising senior FAA officials on engineering and security tactics
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software tools; experienced with collaboration platforms such as MS Teams, SharePoint, and Jira/Confluence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create executive-level briefings, technical reports, and presentations for stakeholders
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship necessary)
Responsibilities
- Assist in the engineering, integration, and maintenance of systems and networks that support FAA communications
- Contribute to ensuring the safety, reliability, and security of National Airspace System operations
- Collaborate with senior engineering personnel on requirements definition, system analysis, integration, and testing for both new and existing NAS systems
- Support system performance assessments and participate in technical interchange meetings
- Help prepare engineering documentation and ensure compliance with FAA configuration standards
- Participate in the establishment of configuration management practices and the upkeep of technical records
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve technical challenges
- Support network engineering initiatives and lend assistance in the development and implementation of system transition and upgrade plans
