Locator with GIS expertise

- Conduct potholing and utility exposure verifications prior to and during bore operations. - Interpret and analyze bore profiles, utility maps, blueprints, and alignment plans to ensure compliance. - Utilize locating and tracking tools to monitor drill head position, depth, pitch, and orientation during operations. - Provide accurate and continuous steering instructions to the Drill/Bore Operator to uphold line and grade integrity. - Ensure bore path clearances from existing utilities, structures, and other potential conflicts are confirmed. - Validate entry and exit points based on the project plan and prevailing field conditions. - Assist in the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of locating equipment prior to drilling activities. - Identify signal disruptions or unexpected bore movements and swiftly communicate necessary corrective actions. - Track bore progress against project specifications and inform the Foreman of any discrepancies. - Promote safe execution of various bore operations by remaining vigilant about bore path conditions. - Document depth assessments, utility conflicts, bore progress, and any field modifications as per project guidelines. - Maintain awareness of surrounding conditions such as traffic, equipment movement, and excavation hazards while monitoring bores. - Aid in observing drilling fluids and identifying potential issues such as frac-out or loss-return situations. - Collaborate with the team to establish safe work zones, effective communication, and enhance productivity. - Carry out routine maintenance, charging, storage, and inspections of locating devices and accessories. - Support the Foreman in recognizing construction feasibility issues and propose adjustments based on site observations. - Perform independent advanced locating tasks on more complex or extended bore sites as required. - Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
