Requirements
Must:
- I require a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- You should have 8 to 10 years of experience in developing complex software systems within Linux environments.
- I expect 8 to 10 years of overseeing a software development team, which includes software design and architecture, requirements analysis, and resource management.
- Five years of experience with Agile methodologies in software development is essential.
Desired Qualifications:
(Any of the following would be a significant advantage)
- Five years of experience with tactical software systems that support surface ship Anti-Submarine Warfare or other Navy/DoD systems operations.
- Five years of technical experience with surface ships AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 sonar systems.
- Five years of technical expertise with integrated common processor sonar for IUSS.
Responsibilities
- I will expect you to analyze technology and capability gaps, and to research, develop, and implement software solutions as part of our Agile Kanban process.
- You will define sprints and set associated deliverables.
- As the lead, you will guide the development team in the design and optimization of code.
- You will take charge of integration, testing, bug fixes, and other maintenance activities for the software.
- I will also require you to lead the creation of technical documentation and user guides to support the developed software.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead to serve as the Surface and Surveillance Engineering Lead for our unit, which is conducting groundbreaking software development on the Navy Combat Training System for our client at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, MD. The projects will involve delivering scientific, engineering, and technical services necessary for the design, development, integration, testing, fleet implementation, and maintenance of training simulation systems. This role offers the opportunity to engage in hands-on software engineering and development while guiding a team of software engineers through full-stack development of state-of-the-art Navy Combat System Training Systems, traversing all phases of the software development life-cycle using an Agile Kanban approach. Our technology stack includes Angular, C, Boost C++, Java, Python, and tools such as GitLab, Jira, Gradle, and Docker. Work Location: - Remote work is not feasible due to the nature of the projects. - The successful candidate will primarily work at our Navy customer site in Carderock, MD. - There may be instances where temporary work is required at our corporate facility in McLean, VA. Compensation: - The salary offered will be aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications. - Pay range: $155,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year. License/Certification: - Valid U.S. Citizenship without dual citizenship is required. Security Clearance: - A Secret clearance is preferred. Commuting Ability: - Ability to commute to Bethesda, MD 20817 is required. Work Location: In-person.
