Requirements
Must:
- US Citizenship required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred
- Over 5 years of experience diagnosing and debugging issues in complex online services
- Must hold active DoD Secret security clearance and CJIS adjudication for USME access
- Proficient in identifying and scripting automatable tasks to improve efficiency
- Experience with PowerShell, SQL, and Python scripting
- Familiarity with managing VMware vSphere infrastructure, including vCenter Server, ESXi host troubleshooting, and NSX-T networking within Azure VMware Solution
- Skilled in diagnosing connectivity issues in Azure VMware Solution, including ExpressRoute circuits and HCX migration tools
- Capable of resolving vSAN storage performance challenges
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement recovery strategies
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken in English
- Experience interacting with external clients and partners representing Microsoft
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to execute tasks with precision during critical outages
Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 technical support for Microsofts cloud-based VMware infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex problems related to VMware vSphere infrastructure, NSX-T networking, vSAN storage, and ExpressRoute connectivity in the AVS environment
- Participate in on-call support rotations and work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams
- Enhance operational efficiency through process improvement and automation
- Address incident tickets to ensure compliance with SLA objectives, focusing on more intricate cases
- Utilize diagnostic tools like netmom, windbg, and custom applications to resolve system issues
- Analyze system logs to detect and resolve issues promptly
- Use the knowledge base to aid in troubleshooting and document solutions and lessons learned
- Maintain and update knowledge base troubleshooting guides as necessary
- Document and recommend enhancements to the engineering team for potential future releases
- Report system outages and manage changes through the change management process
- Facilitate collaboration across operations, development teams, and external partners
