Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of practical EDI experience, ideally in a manufacturing or supply chain-intensive environment
- Background in supporting commercial-facing business processes such as orders, shipping, and invoicing
- Proficiency with IBM Sterling VAN is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing and distribution, like SAP or Oracle
- Experience in supporting procurement or supplier communications is a plus
- Project management experience is required; formal training or certification is an advantage
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- PM certification in Agile or Scrum is desirable
- Expertise in negotiating vendor managed SLAs for leading EDI projects
- Strong understanding of EDI standards (ANSI X12; EDIFACT optional)
- Experience with integrating EDI with SAP (ECC/S4) as the primary ERP
- Knowledge of SAP and SAP IDOCs
- Familiarity with XML for integrating EDI
- Experience with core transaction sets used in commercial and procurement processes
- Ability to oversee mapping development, testing, and validation
- Knowledge of integration layers, APIs, and middleware
- Familiarity with EDI mapping tools such as Seeburger and BTP Integration suite is a plus
- Awareness of basic scripting and automation principles in EDI processing
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with Commercial and GSM partners
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring high-quality, timely results
- Strong teamwork orientation with the capability to collaborate across IT and business functions
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary owner of all EDI operations within Clients Optical Communications
- Manage EDI integrations supporting key Commercial activities including orders, forecasts, ASNs, and invoicing
- Oversee integration processes between IBM Sterling and SAP ECC, and from Axway to SAP ECC (EMEA)
- Supervise 3PL Warehouse integration via EDI/XML
- Translate commercial and procurement requirements into both functional and technical specifications
- Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of the IBM Sterling system
- Manage all IT expenditure related to IBM
- Act as the main contact for IBM Sterling and EDI service providers, as well as consulting partners
- Monitor service performance, adherence to SLAs, incident resolution, and upgrade cycles
- Evaluate vendor capabilities and provide recommendations for improvements in platform or workflow
- Oversee operational activities managed by Corporate IT teams (SAP and Integration)
- Coordinate onboarding and maintenance of customer and supplier trading partners
- Identify and resolve issues in daily transaction flows in collaboration with IT, Commercial, Supply Chain, and GSM teams
- Ensure compliance with EDI standards and commercial requirements
- Partner with different teams to guarantee smooth data exchange between backend systems and EDI interfaces
- Own the EDI enhancement and fix intake process, including prioritization and collaboration with business partners
- Execute SAP EDI configuration activities, including partner profiles and mapping condition records
- Lead setup activities in IBM Sterling for connection, routing, and integration readiness
- Direct communications during testing phases, including notifications and transaction success confirmations
- Coordinate testing for inbound and outbound SAP IDocs/EDI transactions and manage go-live readiness
