Requirements
Must:
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in developing advanced Business Intelligence solutions, focusing on dashboards, reports, and data pipelines within large-scale retail settings, with a strong emphasis on analysis, design, and performance enhancement.
- Proficient in managing large datasets, crafting complex T-SQL queries, and executing SQL tuning, troubleshooting, and data transformation tasks.
- Familiarity with data pipeline technologies and ETL tools and languages such as SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep.
- Knowledge of database technologies, including Snowflake and SQL Server.
- Experience with data visualization and consumption tools like Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, and Business Objects.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data lake architecture.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Snowscript, Javascript, VBA, and Python is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues within production systems, prompting swift resolutions.
- Quick adaptability to new technical systems and processes to fulfill engineering requirements.
- Experience with various project management methodologies, including waterfall, agile, and scrum.
- Skill in simplifying intricate problems, synthesizing information, and crafting compelling narratives to guide decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills to convey information effectively to various audiences, inclusive of both technical and non-technical individuals.
Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative projects with merchandise planners, analysts, technical partners, and business leaders to drive focused development that aligns with strategic business objectives.
- Convert business needs into clear product specifications to guide efficient engineering development.
- Offer technical guidance on constructing effective and sustainable data pipelines to address business challenges.
- Design and sustain scalable Business Intelligence solutions, encompassing dashboards, reports, and data pipelines to meet analytical and operational demands.
- Conduct peer code reviews that emphasize query development, data cleansing, and validation to guarantee accuracy and consistency in BI solutions.
- Create, validate, and optimize ETL processes and large data repositories to enhance performance, accuracy, and maintainability.
- Develop and present interactive and static data visualizations that back business recommendations and effectively relay insights to stakeholders.
- Implement best practices in reporting and analysis to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis across data pipelines, refresh schedules, reports, and access issues within the BI environment, ensuring prompt resolution and system reliability.
- Communicate with stakeholders to manage issues, updates, and compliance while balancing new development with ongoing support.
