Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years in Detection and Response as a senior individual contributor, showcasing experience in developing security tools rather than just operating them.
- More than 3 years of programming experience in Python or a similar language, with a focus on writing production-level code.
- Extensive background in cloud security monitoring and conducting investigations.
- Proven capability in constructing detections from large datasets and streamlining incident response processes.
- In-depth understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs), malware analysis, and threat hunting techniques.
- Practical experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and/or serverless technologies (Cloud Functions, Workers).
- Acquainted with observability in distributed systems and large-scale log analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable detection systems across cloud infrastructure, applications, and enterprise systems using extensive log analysis and behavioral signals.
- Create automated response tools and workflows that minimize the time to detect and respond, transforming manual processes into programmable solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert during security incidents, leading investigations from the initial assessment through to root cause identification and remediation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to recognize new telemetry sources, enhance log coverage, and ensure necessary visibility.
- Proactively hunt for threats using intelligence and behavioral analysis to identify malicious activities before alerts are triggered, then convert these hunts into operational detections.
- Contribute to a dynamic codebase by deploying detection logic and automation tools in production settings.
- Mentor team members by coaching on investigative techniques, detection engineering practices, and incident management, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical mastery.
