Requirements
Must:
- 8–12 years of experience in QA and automation, with 4–6 years in a senior or QA Lead role
- Proven leadership of a team of 5-6 QA Automation Engineers
- Extensive knowledge of API automation frameworks and strategies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#
- Practical experience with Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, Karate, and Postman/Newman
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, microservices, Git, cloud technologies, and containerization
- Familiarity with testing AI- and LLM-powered APIs and assessing response quality and correctness (preferred)
- Understanding of AI quality risks including hallucinations, non-deterministic outputs, bias, and response drift (preferred)
- Experience with contract testing (Pact), performance testing (JMeter, Gatling, k6), API security testing, and advanced service virtualization (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive API automation strategy and framework architecture for microservices and distributed systems
- Develop sophisticated API automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, Postman/Newman, and Karate
- Create and automate AI/LLM test scenarios to evaluate response quality, accuracy, reliability, consistency, and safety
- Construct API-level automated tests for handling LLM prompts, structured outputs (JSON), error situations, and edge cases
- Implement contract validation, schema checks, negative testing, and API security assessments
- Integrate automation processes within CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left quality methodologies
- Employ service virtualization and mocking tools like WireMock to stabilize testing environments and enhance delivery speed
- Enhance automation reliability, minimize flakiness, and define quality KPIs and reporting metrics
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code review for automation projects
- Design and maintain enterprise-level API automation frameworks with a hands-on approach using Playwright
- Simulate complex backend systems and third-party services through service virtualization for stable and early testing
- Collaborate with security, architecture, and DevOps teams to align Playwright adoption with corporate governance standards
- Offer best practice recommendations and technical direction for scalable implementation of Playwright

This role is essential to us as you will spearhead the architecture, strategy, and execution of API automation across our digital platforms, focusing on AI and LLM services.
