IT Systems Engineer - Windows, Linux

- Provide technical leadership in systems design, incident response, disaster recovery, and enhancement of our infrastructure. - Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure components, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, Office 365, and virtualization platforms. - Administer and maintain SQL servers, network storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and essential business applications. - Establish baselines and technical standards for both on-premises and cloud systems. - Manage group policies, Entra ID, Intune, and other user access controls, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and internal policies. - Monitor system performance, perform tuning, apply updates, and coordinate lifecycle upgrades. - Enforce cybersecurity best practices by managing firewalls, VPNs, multi-factor authentication, anti-virus/EDR, and email security systems. - Assist in security risk assessments, system hardening, and identity management using Windows AD/Entra ID. - Conduct routine audits of system access, configurations, and patch statuses to ensure HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance. - Contribute to business continuity through the design and testing of backup and disaster recovery strategies. - Engage in Change Management processes, including planning, documenting, communicating, and executing infrastructure changes to minimize risk and maintain service continuity. - Administer LAN/WAN, Cisco switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, DNS, DHCP, BGP, and site-to-site VPN configurations. - Monitor and enhance network performance to ensure high availability and security. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components across our infrastructure. - Lead infrastructure-related projects and collaborate with vendors, departments, and stakeholders on IT initiatives. - Provide documentation, system diagrams, and training to IT staff on new technologies or changes. - Assist with IT roadmap planning, procurement strategies, and proposal writing under the guidance of the Technology Manager. - Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
