Requirements
Must:
- Knowledge of network protocols including IPv4 and IPv6
- Familiarity with DDOS protections and Quality of Service (QOS)
- Experience with virtualization solutions and optical fiber technologies
- Capability to troubleshoot network incidents and install equipment
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with vendors and customers
- Experience in supporting Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must pass fingerprint and background checks from DOJ and FBI
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for the California Department of Technology Statewide Data Center Network
- Assist in maintaining network functionality for various services
- Troubleshoot and resolve 2nd level network service incidents
- Install network equipment and participate in assigned projects
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and CDT personnel for issue resolution
- Participate in periodic overtime, weekend, or on-call assignments as needed
- Travel throughout California for network equipment installations or project work
