Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 1 year of programming experience with PLCs, real-time controllers, or robotics
- Hands-on experience with material handling systems, such as conveyors or stacker cranes
- Proficient in software design using higher-level or object-oriented programming languages, including C#, C++, Python, Java, or Visual Basic
- Experience with automated testing and scripting is an advantage
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies is beneficial
- Previous experience in HMI/SCADA programming is advantageous
- Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or related field; honors level preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and adhere to project plans, ensuring milestone dates are established and met
- Collaborate on the iterative design and enhancement of controls software products with product champions
- Create software tools for the swift deployment of controls software in testing and application environments
- Execute quality control processes through module, subsystem, and system testing, which may include on-site commissioning
- Present complex technical analysis and findings to stakeholders
- Assist in formulating and upholding standards for controls software
- Document the development process, including detailed specifications and test documents
- Provide estimates for modules in development, focusing on personal work, and review complex standards specifications
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health Safety and Environment standards in all tasks, particularly during equipment testing
- Train regional product champions for efficient software deployment
- Be prepared for up to 10% travel as needed
