Requirements
Must:
- Strong expertise in systems programming and distributed system concepts (concurrency, networking, storage, consistency, fault tolerance)
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as C/C++, Java, or Python; eagerness to learn across the technology stack
- Experience in development and debugging within Linux or BSD environments (e.g., performance analysis tools like perf, strace/dtrace/eBPF, tcpdump)
- Capability to produce clean, testable code and familiarity with various testing methodologies (unit/integration/system testing and CI/CD)
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive approach to challenges
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of issues from design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and support within a cluster storage framework
- Develop and enhance distributed services, focusing on durability, consistency, replication, data pathways, metadata, control planes, scheduling, placement, and lifecycle management
- Improve performance across compute, memory, IO, networking (including RDMA), and storage media (NVMe/SSD/HDD), targeting latency and throughput advancements through data-driven profiling
- Enhance system reliability through observability practices, telemetry, failure injection, chaos testing, and automated remediation, elevating serviceability and maintainability standards
- Support security and compliance initiatives by adhering to secure-by-default engineering principles
