Requirements
Must:
- 8-12+ years of professional experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering
- U.S. Citizenship (necessary for involvement in Federal projects)
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools in on-premise/bare metal environments
- Extensive knowledge of Linux internals, storage fundamentals, and Kubernetes, including Calico, CNI, BGP/eBGP, Storage, RBAC, Pod Security, Operators, Operator SDK / Fabric8 APIs
- Strong programming capabilities in Shell, Python, Helm, and associated automation tools
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure services like HA/DR, DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, TLS, and Git-based workflows
- Familiarity with observability and telemetry tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
- Proven success in Agile teams, both autonomously and in widely distributed settings

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Dells Kubernetes on Bare Metal container platform across IT, Federal, and Product engineering divisions
- Collaborate with application teams to facilitate adoption, optimize platform functionalities, and resolve complex distributed system challenges
- Architect, design, and implement automation-centered solutions for provisioning, scaling, and managing bare metal Kubernetes clusters
- Create high-quality technical solutions that align with business and platform roadmaps
- Lead design evaluations, technical deep dives, and incident reviews to promote ongoing improvement
- Mentor, train, and support junior and mid-level engineers to enhance overall team proficiency
- Act as a domain authority in Kubernetes, container networking, platform reliability, and infrastructure automation
