Requirements
Must:
- Expertise in network configuration (Layer 2 GbE)
- Proficient in network issue root cause analysis
- Familiarity with Linux systems (SUSE and/or FreeBSD preferred)
- Strong background in hardware system environments
- Knowledge of updating system components (BIOS, Firmware, OS)
- Scripting skills, preferably in Python
- Desirable skills include Layer 3 GbE network configuration
- Infiniband network configuration skills
- Experience with fault-tolerant and highly available systems
- Familiarity with HDD and SSD technology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Deep understanding of engineering principles
- Knowledge of Intel-based architectures
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree; or 5+ years with a Masters degree; or a PhD with no prior experience; or an equivalent combination of experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee lab operations to facilitate performance testing, customer issue replication, network setup, and hardware qualification
- Troubleshoot networking problems
- Ensure maintenance of system configurations and adherence to security protocols, including BIOS, firmware, and OS components
- Load, configure, test, and support unstructured storage appliance clusters
- Qualify hardware components (such as drives and cables), firmware, and software
- Physically install and configure hardware in our labs located in Massachusetts (Hopkinton and Franklin)
