Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of experience in engineering large scale HPC and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of cluster architecture, schedulers, and provisioning workflows
- Extensive experience with RHEL/Rocky/Ubuntu and hands-on cluster deployments using open-source toolchains and automation frameworks such as Omnia and OpenCHAMI
- Production experience with Slurm and/or Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Docker/Podman, OpenTelemetry pipelines, and telemetry instrumentation
- Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking fundamentals, including PXE/iPXE, DHCP/TFTP
- Familiarity with InfiniBand/RoCE/OmniPath fabrics and event streaming using Kafka
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, and Bash
- Expertise in monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Excellent communication skills for addressing escalations and simplifying complex HPC concepts
Responsibilities
- Lead customer architecture and design initiatives, translating HPC/AI workload requirements into scalable cluster architectures including compute, schedulers, storage, and interconnects
- Deploy and operationalize clusters using automation tools like Omnia, focusing on provisioning, scheduler setup, telemetry, authentication, and repository management
- Develop and maintain provisioning workflows (OpenCHAMI-based or similar) encompassing PXE/iPXE boot, cloud initialization, security measures, and identity/certificate operations
- Act as a Tier 3 engineering escalation point, troubleshooting intricate provisioning, scheduling, GPU, networking, and performance issues; perform root cause analyses and implement long-term solutions
- Contribute to open-source projects and assist customers through code contributions, documentation, training sessions, runbooks, templates, and readiness materials for field applications
