Requirements
Must:
- Strong expertise in hardware design, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex printed circuit boards along with knowledge of the associated power, mechanical, and thermal infrastructure
- Experience in computer architecture and designing with high-speed interfaces such as Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), Double Data Rate (DDR), and Ethernet
- Solid foundation in electrical or computer engineering with a comprehensive understanding of server architecture
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in a professional capacity with a Bachelors degree; or 6+ years with a Masters degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred
Responsibilities
- Author and oversee the development of design guides and specifications for innovative designs while directing the architectural direction for next-generation devices/platforms and validating the feasibility of concepts for these products
- Collaborate closely with Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) and Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM) partners to implement designs according to specified architecture, reviewing design and validation outcomes
- Establish design standards and assess objectives for the product such as cost, performance, and reliability, ensuring they are achievable through strategic design choices, component selection, and/or supplier sourcing
- Work in partnership across multiple disciplines (hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, procurement, etc.) to confirm that product requirements are executed to align with program goals
- Consistently demonstrate exceptional communication skills to articulate requirements and deliver technology updates to various Dell Technologies product groups and development teams
