Requirements
Must:
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 5 years of experience in network engineering.
- Proven knowledge of network security best practices and regulatory compliance standards (NERC-CIP, FISMA, NIST SP 800 series).
- Experience in conducting network assessments and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with change management processes and issue resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and various network security technologies (including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs).
- Strong understanding of network architectures and quality of service (QoS) principles.
- Expertise in developing network design documentation and related policies.
- Proven ability in leading network implementation, configuration, and testing activities.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and backup/recovery procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing networks, identifying configurations, analyzing traffic, and evaluating security measures.
- Design modernized network architectures that incorporate centralized logging, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and regulatory compliance monitoring tools.
- Advise on the procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of network devices, ensuring successful integration.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer for ongoing operations and maintenance.
- Develop compliance documentation, policies, and procedures pertinent to network engineering.
Description
We at DecisionPoint are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to become a part of our team, supporting the Glen Canyon ICS-Operations group located in Page, Arizona. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in network design, implementation, and maintenance, holding a deep understanding of network security practices and compliance regulations. This is primarily a remote position, but it may require about 25% travel for on-site assessments and tasks throughout the Upper Colorado Region at various power plants and facilities. The main work location will be at the Glen Canyon Power Plant, with secondary service locations including several power plants in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.
