Requirements
Must:
- Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the applicable State Department of Health
- Certified by the ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist with annual renewal/registration required
- Possession of applicable state license, ARRT, and CPR/BLS certifications with continuing education credits
- If registry eligible by ARRT, certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Advanced registry in CT is required within eighteen (18) months of hire
- License renewal must be completed two weeks prior to expiration date
- Ability to understand human cross-sectional anatomy and gross pathology
- Proficient in CT and/or MRI scanning technology
Responsibilities
- Manipulate digital medical images in various planes for clinical visualization and analysis
- Ensure images needing post-processing are routed to the appropriate workstations
- Network processed images to PACS and other archival systems swiftly
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to maximize the clinical value of images
- Utilize radiology information systems to check patient medical history and update exam statuses
- Assist in training physicians and technologists in image post-processing applications
- Conduct CT and/or MRI scanning procedures at an accepted competency level
- Perform IV injections adhering to safe sterile techniques
- Be available for emergency callbacks if assigned
- Aid in onboarding new staff and students
- Maintain a clean and adequately stocked work area
- Handle office responsibilities when necessary
- Participate in in-service training sessions
- Monitor vital signs as needed
- Execute HIS, RIS, and PACS functions as required
- Keep equipment well-maintained to minimize downtime and costs
- Engage in performance improvement and quality assurance efforts
- Provide guidance to technologists in orientation and supervise radiology students when assigned
- Undertake additional duties as assigned
