Requirements
Must:
- Extensive expertise in SQL, with a focus on advanced query tuning and optimization techniques.
- Practical experience utilizing AWS database services; AWS certification is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with clustering, log shipping, and enhancing database security.
- Competent in writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL scripts.
- Required familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and SSIS.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, especially within small teams.
- Proven ability to independently tackle complex challenges.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional knowledge of programming languages is a beneficial asset.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS database solutions, including Amazon RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Lead smooth migrations from on-premises SQL Server to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS-native services (IAM, AWS Backup).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployments using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and Lambda.
- Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and security teams to uphold security best practices and perform audits for AWS and SaaS environments.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and SSIS packages; troubleshoot and address database conflicts and performance issues.
- Serve as a technical advisor within cross-functional product development teams, providing insights on data architecture and performance optimization.
- Monitor and manage long-running transactions; apply indexing strategies and efficient T-SQL coding to enhance query execution.
- Oversee database resource allocation to ensure high availability and performance.
- Deliver performance analysis and trend reports to assist with infrastructure planning and management.
- Contribute to the ongoing documentation of technical environments and established processes.
- Participate in the teams on-call support rotation.
