Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience - Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent professional experience - 3-5 years of experience in cloud cost management, cloud operations, or technology finance, preferably within financial services or another regulated industry - Deep understanding of billing models, pricing structures, and optimization methods for AWS, Azure, and Snowflake - Experience in managing cost governance and reporting frameworks across multi-cloud environments - Strong grasp of FinOps principles, including budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, and cost transparency - Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight - Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and finance stakeholders, including senior management - FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional (or willingness to obtain) - Familiarity with ITIL and cloud governance frameworks - Experience optimizing data platforms, specifically Snowflake usage - Proficiency in SQL and/or scripting to support custom cost analytics and automation - Strong financial literacy, analytical abilities, and attention to detail - Capability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority - Proactive, improvement-oriented mindset with strong leadership and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

- Establish and enhance FinOps capabilities aligned with the FinOps Foundation framework across AWS, Azure, and Snowflake environments - Lead efforts to optimize and govern cloud expenses across multi-cloud and data platform ecosystems - Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Architecture, Product, and Cloud Operations teams to define and track FinOps objectives, ensuring transparency in cost performance and business results - Develop and implement cost allocation models, tagging standards, and chargeback/showback frameworks - Set governance standards for resource utilization and pricing model adoption, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans - Analyze cloud and data platform cost data to identify opportunities for savings, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements - Recommend strategies for rightsizing, scheduling, and reserved capacity while balancing performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency - Partner with engineering teams to inform architectural decisions through financial impact analysis and cost modeling - Work with Finance and Business Unit leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning for cloud and data platform expenditures - Construct and maintain models for cloud spending that illustrate historical trends, growth trajectories, and unit cost metrics - Present cost insights and optimization results to senior leadership via dashboards and executive reports - Utilize cloud cost management and FinOps tools for ongoing monitoring and reporting - Act as a liaison among Finance, Engineering, Architecture, and Product teams to promote cost awareness and informed decision-making - Advocate FinOps principles, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
