Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years of expertise in Kafka administration, particularly with Confluent Kafka
- Strong understanding of Kafka security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and authorization
- Experience integrating Kafka, including setting up and managing Kafka connectors
- Proven hands-on experience with Kafka upgrades, patch management, and disaster recovery planning
- Proficient in troubleshooting Kafka-related challenges and optimizing performance
- Excellent documentation capabilities and effective communication skills across teams
- Commitment to maintaining open communication to keep the organization informed
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and oversee Kafka clusters, incorporating Confluent Kafka components
- Maintain existing clusters and establish new environments as required
- Continuously monitor Kafka clusters for performance, reliability, and capacity planning
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal system functionality
- Implement and manage security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and authorization
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security guidelines
- Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate Kafka with various data sources and endpoints
- Set up and manage Kafka connectors to facilitate seamless data flow
- Plan and execute Kafka upgrades and patches to keep systems updated
- Create and uphold disaster recovery plans, conducting regular tests to ensure uninterrupted business operations
- Manage Kafka topics, including configurations, retention policies, and cleanup settings
- Provide technical assistance for Kafka-related issues, partnering with multi-functional teams to ensure swift resolutions
- Maintain thorough documentation for Kafka configurations, processes, and best practices
- Share knowledge within the team to enhance operational efficiency
