Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, cloud security, or enterprise security design, with significant expertise in cloud security across AWS and Azure environments
- Proven leadership in security architecture within large, complex, and heavily regulated companies
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing senior technical staff or security architects, ensuring high-quality architectural outcomes
- Strong foundation in cloud-first security initiatives, with a preference for AWS experience
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements, such as NIST, ISO, and CIS benchmarks
- Ability to define security architectures, create multi-year roadmaps, and implement enterprise-scale designs
- Advanced comprehension of cloud security services and controls, including IAM, encryption, and incident response
- Familiarity with embedding security architecture into DevSecOps models, such as CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native security tools
- Expertise in specific security domains, including Application Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and Data Protection & Encryption
- Strong architectural mindset, balancing strategic vision with practical design guidance
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities, able to influence executive-level leaders
- Capacity to convert complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences
- Comfortable in a non-hands-on, architecture-centered role, guiding teams through influence rather than direct action
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or equivalent credentials
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies is advantageous, though not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, evolution, and governance of DTCCs cloud security architecture, focusing on AWS-based platforms and cloud-first strategies
- Define, maintain, and disseminate security architecture patterns and reference architectures that foster secure, scalable cloud adoption
- Establish and sustain a robust security posture for cloud applications and services, ensuring compliance with DTCCs risk and regulatory standards
- Integrate domain and solution architecture, offering architectural guidance in scenarios where these roles may be distinct
- Assess emerging security capabilities and technologies in collaboration with Cybersecurity, Cloud Delivery, and IT Architecture teams
- Serve as a trusted security advisor to IT and business stakeholders, influencing outcomes across key initiatives
- Collaborate closely with partner organizations, including Cloud Delivery, IT Architecture, and Cybersecurity Engineering, to aid enterprise modernization
- Translate complex security and architectural ideas into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentor and develop a team of 3-5 Security Architects, balancing coaching with accountability for high-quality architectural results
- Provide strategic direction and prioritization for team activities related to architecture design and standards development
- Cultivate a culture focused on security-first thinking, effective communication, and continuous improvement
- Initially focus on approximately 50% strategy and 50% architecture/design, with the potential for broader enterprise influence and tactical strategy responsibilities
