Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of application support and SRE principles, including reliability engineering and incident prevention
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments for process inspection, log analysis, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, such as Splunk and Grafana
- Working knowledge of SQL for query execution and analysis
- Experience with ITSM and operational tools like ServiceNow for management processes
- Knowledge of job scheduling and modern application environments like Autosys and OpenShift
- Understanding of security fundamentals, including certificate and password management
- Exposure to the capital markets and financial industry
- Familiarity with messaging, networking, or mainframe concepts is beneficial
- Experience in managing issues related to AWS and its services
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts and their application in production support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating ownership and leadership
- Ability to work with urgency and collaborate with global teams
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Lead Application Support Engineer with SRE responsibilities, collaborating with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to enhance system reliability
- Spearhead the resolution of critical production incidents, providing detailed impact analysis, root cause identification, and preventive measures
- Manage incident, problem, and major incident processes, ensuring ownership through resolution and post-incident evaluations
- Identify reliability risks proactively and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences and minimize operational toil
- Review and update runbooks, knowledge articles, and operational documentation to guarantee production readiness
- Execute change, release, and deployment activities, including production code releases and vendor application enhancements
- Support and participate in Disaster Recovery activities, including testing and documentation
- Discover and implement opportunities for automation and alert rationalization to boost operational efficiency
- Incorporate reliability, risk management, and control considerations into daily operations, escalating issues as needed
