Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Proven experience in designing and delivering large-scale cloud-native applications
- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of middleware technologies, such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, FIX, SWIFT, or similar
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and enterprise software development
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities
- Experience in the financial services or regulated industries
- Knowledge of cloud security, data governance, and compliance frameworks
- Understanding of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and API management platforms
Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers across various product lines
- Develop and execute cloud-first and middleware-integrated technology roadmaps in partnership with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product teams
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Direct the design and development of cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Oversee the migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security
- Lead integration efforts utilizing middleware technologies such as Kafka, MQ, FIX, SWIFT, API gateways, and service meshes
- Ensure robust messaging, event-driven architecture, and data streaming capabilities across platforms
- Advocate for engineering best practices, including DevSecOps, microservices architecture, and API-first design
- Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery methods
- Ensure systems adhere to performance, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Assess new technologies and guide their adoption to enhance DTCCs technology stack
- Collaborate with business and technology leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable engineering plans
- Effectively communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
