Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 8+ years in Cybersecurity, IT, Risk Management, Governance, or a related field
- 5+ years in cybersecurity compliance, risk, or audit within financial services (banking, fintech, brokerage, etc.)
- 3+ years managing small technical teams in large enterprise settings, ideally within the financial industry
- Established expertise with CIS, NYDFS, FFIEC, SOX, PCI-DSS, and NIST CSF/800-53
- Hands-on experience in monitoring compliance across servers, workstations, databases, storage solutions, network devices, SaaS, and cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with compliance monitoring tools like HPNA, Qualys, Guardium
- Understanding of security controls including IAM, encryption, SIEM, and vulnerability management
- Capability to create and deliver insightful compliance metrics
- Proficiency in audit response and regulatory reporting
- Strong leadership, excellent communication, and effective stakeholder management skills
- Focus on compliance and risk management
- Experience in cloud compliance (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform) in regulated environments
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, or similar
Responsibilities
- Engineer, implement, and operate compliance tools to monitor technologies, including compute, storage, databases, and network both in cloud and on-premises environments
- Develop, implement, and uphold the cybersecurity compliance roadmap
- Assist service owners with remediation processes and track action plans to completion
- Maintain policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with FFIEC, GLBA, NYDFS, etc.
- Report compliance metrics across various technology domains such as OS, Storage, Network, etc.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5+ cybersecurity engineers focused on compliance tooling and control execution
- Prioritize tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and encourage teamwork
- Link technical execution (engineers) with strategic compliance objectives
- Oversee vendor security assessments and third-party risk management
- Serve as the main point of contact for compliance metrics
- Stay updated on evolving regulations (SEC, FINRA, CFPB), potential threats, and relevant frameworks
- Automate compliance monitoring and reporting through GRC tools
- Propel initiatives to enhance security defenses and minimize compliance risks
