Requirements
Must:
- US citizenship and a Secret security clearance are mandatory.
- Bachelors degree in electronics, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in software development related to modeling and simulation within training systems is essential.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Windows and various Unix operating systems, such as Linux.
- Familiarity with software development and diagnostic tools is necessary.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred; if not currently held, it must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Knowledge of desired programming languages: Assembly; C, C++; Microsoft .Net (C#, VB); Java.
- Understanding of desired operating systems: Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows Server 2012R2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, 7.
Responsibilities
- Execute tasks necessary for designing, developing, documenting, testing, integrating, and modifying operating systems and application software for aviation training systems.
- Create, troubleshoot, and modify specialized utility programs and applications to support real-time systems.
- Plan hardware and software development including the integration of modifications into aviation training systems.
- Develop software solutions by analyzing information requirements, collaborating with users, studying system flows, assessing data usage, and addressing problem areas, while adhering to the software development lifecycle.
- Assess operational feasibility through detailed evaluation of analysis, problem definitions, requirements, solution creation, and proposed resolutions.
- Document and showcase solutions by producing comprehensive documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and clear code comments.
