Requirements
Must:
- Proven ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Capacity to articulate technical concepts in laymans terms to non-technical users
- Strong commitment to customer service, particularly when dealing with frustrated or anxious users
- Prior experience in a help desk or technical support role, including familiarity with ticketing systems like Service Now
- Effective task prioritization and time management skills, along with meticulous record-keeping of issues and resolutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Responsibilities
- Provide consultative and technical support services to ensure swift problem resolution and system access
- Act as the initial point of contact for technical support within our organization
- Deliver support through telephone, walk-in, and email channels as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of request history in the Help Desk Ticketing System
- Install, configure, set up, and maintain desktop and laptop hardware and software for faculty and staff
- Triage and redirect advanced second and third-tier requests to appropriate technical personnel
- Foster strong working relationships with IT experts to facilitate issue escalation and resolution
- Ensure optimal system performance and user satisfaction through proactive outreach and support
Description
We are seeking a dedicated technical support professional to join our team and provide essential consultative and technical services to our staff. This position requires on-site presence four days a week, with one day allowed for remote work. You will be a vital resource in resolving issues and ensuring efficient access to systems and data. We offer a collaborative work environment with opportunities for growth and development, although please note that parking is not provided for contractors.
