AI Engineer - AI Department

- Fine-tune large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) specific to pet care and animal behavior utilizing advanced post-training techniques (SFT, DPO, GRPO/DAPO) - Develop and assess computer vision models for tasks like animal detection, pose estimation, activity recognition, and health monitoring - Construct multimodal AI pipelines that integrate video, audio, weight sensor data, and additional sensor modalities for immediate animal behavior assessment - Design and manage model serving infrastructure ensuring high throughput and minimal latency (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM) - Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and agentic workflows for retrieving domain-specific knowledge and facilitating automated decision-making - Optimize models for deployment on-device or at the edge using quantization (GPTQ, AWQ, INT4/INT8), model distillation, etc. - Curate and supervise training datasets, including generating synthetic data and establishing annotation pipelines for animal images and videos - Develop frameworks for evaluating performance and benchmarks tailored to animal AI tasks (classification accuracy of behaviors, false alert rates, etc.) - Collaborate with firmware and embedded engineers to deploy models on hardware with resource constraints - Monitor model performance in real-time, set up systems for drift detection, and manage model versioning and rollback protocols
