Requirements
Must:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of the customer requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret security clearance.
- 5 years of experience in IT, Cyber Security, Information Assurance, or Engineering with a relevant Bachelors degree.
- Must comply with DOD and Army training regulations outlined in DODD 8570.01, DOD 8570.01-M, and AR25-2 within 6 months of employment.
- Previous experience in roles such as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) or an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to develop and implement relevant doctrines and policies.
- Apply security engineering principles to both government and commercial common user systems, including specialized systems requiring unique security features.
- Ensure that all procurement efforts align with information security requirements consistent with Army and DoD protocols.
- Assess and validate the effectiveness of security improvement measures to ensure proper implementation.
- Evaluate how procurement processes address information security needs and supply chain risks, and suggest necessary enhancements.
- Identify alternative strategies for achieving information security goals.
- Analyze the implications of new technologies or upgrades on the IT security program.
- Recommend and interpret security requirements based on the capabilities of emerging information technologies.
- Assess noncompliance patterns to evaluate their potential impact on risk levels and overall effectiveness of the organization.
- Monitor and analyze the efficiency of cybersecurity measures to ensure adequate protection is being provided.
- Engage in the Risk Governance process, addressing security risks and offering input on technical challenges.
- Foster security awareness among management and ensure the adoption of best security practices.
- Contribute to Risk Management Framework documentation including system life-cycle support plans and operational procedures.
- Aid in selecting cost-effective security controls to mitigate risks related to information, systems, and processes.
