Requirements
Must:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering field with a minimum GPA of 2.75
- At least 1 year of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling; familiarity with Mastercam or similar software is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Preferred exposure to Finite Element Analysis and ability to interpret results
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, fixtures, and gaging systems is desirable
- Previous experience in firearms design and implementation is a plus
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities; capable of interacting with Executive Leadership, team members, vendors, and customers
- Self-driven and independent worker with strong time management skills
- Firearm knowledge is an asset, but not mandatory
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines including Design, Manufacturing, and New Product Development
- Assist in the New Product Stage/Gate Process to transition ideas and technologies into new products
- Help with the design, prototyping, and testing of firearms and related accessories
- Create technical documentation such as CAD models, 2D drawings, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly
- Maintain and develop work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contribute to cost assessments, risk evaluations, and design reviews for new products
- Formulate and implement test methodologies for new technologies and existing product lines
- Provide technical assistance to sales and marketing teams regarding new products
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to devise cost-effective and efficient solutions
- Participate in designing fixtures and gages for handling, assembly, and inspection of parts
- Develop, implement, and validate new gaging systems and fixtures according to equipment performance standards
- Work with team members and company staff to create and enforce operational procedures, as well as troubleshoot system failures
- Engage in ongoing efforts to enhance Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity within the company
- Uphold company standards of integrity, safety, equitable treatment, and a positive working atmosphere
