Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing scalable Cloud/Hybrid environments, with substantial expertise in AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in developing and managing Infrastructure as Code, utilizing tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, etc.
- Experience in a leadership capacity overseeing the technical direction of a team of Cloud Engineers.
- Expert understanding of cloud best practices with practical experience in building sophisticated software engineering products.
- Extensive experience in establishing and promoting Cloud engineering best practices.
- Strong comprehension of distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures.
- Experience handling mission-critical enterprise-class applications.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business partners and cross-functional team members, along with mentoring less experienced colleagues.
- Proven history of driving continuous improvement in cloud technology.
- Demonstrated capability to promote automation and develop self-service capabilities for Software Engineers.
- Proficient in developing automation scripts using various automation, orchestration, scripting, or programming languages.
- Ability to optimize cloud infrastructure with consideration for cost and performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership and create cloud solutions that generate significant business impact and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Lead the design and rollout of scalable, reliable, and maintainable cloud solutions.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse cross-functional team which includes business partners, Product Managers, and designers to establish product requirements and direction.
- Drive technical innovation and advancements in the design and architecture of cloud systems towards cutting-edge technologies and practices.
- Define and propagate cloud engineering best practices across the organization.
- Become an authority in the business process domain to better align technologies with business outcomes.
- Collaborate with the engineering leadership team to craft and execute the company’s technical and business strategies.
- Conduct impact analyses to proactively assess the ramifications of changes across multiple applications and systems.
- Perform technical evaluations and architectural assessments of third-party technologies and solutions.
- Experiment with ideas, validate assumptions based on needs, draw conclusions, and recommend solutions.
- Document standards, best practices, and engineering artifacts to facilitate the understanding, construction, and maintenance of superior Cloud systems.
- Resolve critical issues that arise in production with effective solutions.
- Lead ongoing learning and process enhancement initiatives to refine design and engineering practices.
- Engage in the talent selection process and mentor team members.
- Establish standard architectural practices and guide solution development across collaborating engineering groups.
- Define and document best practices and strategies for cloud deployments and maintenance.
- Ensure application performance, availability, and scalability, maintaining high quality and thoughtful design standards.
- Conduct routine audits of cloud accounts to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of cloud documentation.
