Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience, ideally with exposure to cloud data platforms.
- Solid proficiency in programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.), data modeling, and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- Capability to process various data types: structured, semi-structured (e.g., JSON, Parquet), and unstructured (e.g., logs, text).
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM or Waterfall methodologies.
- Understanding of batch and streaming data pipeline design principles.
- Knowledge of data modeling and schema design principles.
- Awareness of data governance and quality frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise-class applications is a plus.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Apache Spark or similar technologies.
- Exposure to Databricks, AWS data services, or other cloud platforms is advantageous.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and tools for maintaining code quality.
- Experience with orchestration frameworks like Airflow or dbt is desirable.
- Background in financial services or the FinTech sector is a plus.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, focusing on semantic layer creation.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient data pipelines and models across batch and streaming frameworks, prioritizing data quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with team members to craft data integration solutions based on stakeholder demands.
- Create data solutions tailored for end users through thorough analysis to ensure meaningful data consumption.
- Write unit tests and validate software to meet acceptance standards.
- Adhere to team coding, documentation, and testing protocols.
- Engage in impact assessments for changes across various applications.
- Gain insights into business processes to align technical solutions with organizational needs.
- Experiment with new concepts and technologies under the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and communicate any changes to the applications.
- Document coding practices and projects for better maintainability and support.
- Troubleshoot production issues and propose effective solutions.
- Contribute to sprint goals and participate in Agile methodologies.
- Commit to continuous learning to enhance technical and domain expertise.
