Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering or a comparable depth of experience
- Proven experience in a leadership role directing a team of software engineers across various systems
- Exceptional knowledge of software engineering best practices with a history of developing complex software products
- Proficient in multiple object-oriented programming languages and design patterns, such as Java
- Extensive background in fostering and endorsing software engineering best practices
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems, cloud solutions, and microservices architectures
- Significant experience in data modeling, design, and messaging
- Experienced in working on mission-critical enterprise applications
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and mentor seasoned team members
- Expertise in constructing application programming interfaces (APIs) and frameworks within their field
- Knowledge of API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications
- Familiarity with delivery methodologies like Agile
- Preferred experience in the financial services or FinTech industries
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership and develop software solutions that enhance business value and customer satisfaction
- Oversee the design and execution of software solutions that are scalable and reliable
- Collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team, including business partners, Product Managers, and designers, to define product requirements and direction
- Promote technical innovations and improve the architecture of software systems using leading-edge technologies
- Establish, advance, and enforce software engineering best practices
- Attain expertise in the business process domain to align technology solutions with business objectives
- Work alongside engineering leadership to formulate and implement the companys technical and business strategies
- Perform impact analysis to preemptively assess changes across various applications/systems
- Carry out technical evaluations and architectural assessments of external technologies and solutions
- Participate in transitioning monolithic code bases to decoupled services
- Experiment and validate ideas against user needs to propose viable solutions
- Document standards, best practices, and engineering artifacts for easy comprehension and maintenance
- Troubleshoot critical production issues and implement effective resolution strategies
- Facilitate continuous learning and process improvement initiatives for enhanced engineering practices
- Contribute to talent growth through hiring and mentoring of team members
