Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Software Engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience leading technical projects and guiding engineering teams.
- Proficient with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.
- Solid experience with AWS, with familiarity in Azure and Google Cloud Platform considered a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Strong scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration across global teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and grow a distributed team of 4-7 DevOps Engineers.
- Coordinate tasks across various time zones, including Ireland, India, and North America.
- Drive consensus on priorities, sprint objectives, and technical standards.
- Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure uniform deployment practices across multi-cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Implement quality control measures and automated testing in release pipelines.
- Diagnose and resolve critical build and release challenges.
- Advocate for infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.
- Standardize cloud provisioning, setup, and resource management processes.
- Lead the transition to containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Modernize deployment workflows and eliminate outdated methods.
- Provide tools and automation solutions to enhance developer efficiency.
- Suggest improvements for development and staging environments.
- Assist in the containerization of applications and services.
- Team up with engineering units to discuss deployment needs and optimization strategies.
- Define monitoring and alerting benchmarks for developer infrastructure and pipelines.
- Ensure strategic planning for capacity and cost efficiency.
- Engage in high-stakes incident response and post-incident analyses.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and operational guides.
